Press Release
The art of Christine Corda brings the stimulating drama and sensuality of music to the eye of the beholder.

Her visual interpretations are born of an intimate familiarity with music, having been raised in a musical heritage - her father was a musician brought up by a family of musicians. Ms. Corda's background in the performing arts also appears to influence her pieces which present a dance-like theatricality in line and form. Forced by poor health to give up her dream to pursue a career in performing arts, Ms. Corda found that giving in to the urge to draw allowed her a very satisfying means by which to express her creativity and, most important, to interpret the music that was in her soul. She does so in a variety of media, including wax pencil, acrylic and pastel, creating forceful representations of her musical inner world.

Christine Corda has been represented and awarded in various juried exhibitions in New York City.

Artist's Statement
Music has always been a crucial presence in my life, the source of my strength and now it's giving me the inspiration to draw. I don't do much, I just let the music into my soul and let it out through my hand. What is represented on each of my works, in fact, is my perception of one or more pieces of music.
